Spring has arrived, and with it comes a new season of colour, warmth, and renewal at Rusty Gate. As the days grow longer and the sun begins to linger, the farm bursts into life – offering our guests a front-row seat to one of nature’s finest displays.
Across the slopes, the fynbos wildflowers are in full bloom, painting the landscape in vivid shades of pinks, purples, yellows and whites. It’s a true colour spectacle, unique to this part of the Overberg, and one of the most memorable sights of the season.
Thanks to the winter rains, the farm is lush and green, with rolling fields and crisp mountain air setting the scene for unforgettable getaways. Rainbows arc across the sky after soft showers, and each sunrise and sunset over the Overberg mountains feels like its own quiet masterpiece.
This time of year is also a dream for photographers, hikers, and runners, who can soak up every small detail of the landscape, from the delicate wildflowers at their feet to the sweeping views across the valleys.
