Did you know South Africa’s fynbos biome depends on fire to thrive? 🌿 Fire helps maintain species richness and keeps the fynbos in a healthy condition. Last week, we completed our first prescribed burn since becoming custodians in 2019! Covering 20 hectares, this burn will act as a wildfire buffer and marks the start of a 10-year cyclical veld management plan.

With wildfire risks increasing during dry summers, controlled burns are vital for reducing damage and supporting the growth of endemic flora.
